About me (and why menopause matters)

About Me
My name is Hanna, and I am a nurse and a post graduate specialist in menopause. I was born and raised in Finland, but in my twenties I moved to Belgium, where I have happily lived ever since. Today, I run Thrive Menopause Consulting in the beautiful, historic Flemish town of Geraardsbergen.

Why Menopause Matters
Menopause directly affects half of the population, often at the very height of their careers and during one of the busiest times of their lives. Managed well, it can be an empowering stage that fosters growth, resilience, and renewed purpose. Ignored, however, it can impact health, relationships, and even work. Despite this, menopause receives little attention in our society—sometimes at a great cost to individuals and communities alike.

Like other major hormonal transitions, such as adolescence or pregnancy, menopause is a profound physical and emotional metamorphosis. In a world where many people live and work for decades after entering menopause, we need to step up and educate ourselves about this phase of life.

My Story
Menopause initially had a deeply negative impact on me. It took years to understand what was happening, and during that time I lost a lot. But by embracing this part of my life, learning how to manage it, and recognising its potential, I was able to rebuild and ultimately gain back more than I lost. That experience drives me to help others do the same. Whether it’s for you personally, or for your family members, colleagues, or employees, I am here to help you thrive.
